Management Reference

The International Journal of Multidisciplinary Magnificent Global (IJMMG) requires authors to manage and present all references accurately, consistently, and transparently. Proper reference management is an essential part of maintaining academic integrity, supporting the credibility of scholarly work, and enabling readers to identify and access the sources cited in published articles.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all sources cited in the manuscript are properly acknowledged and that the reference list corresponds accurately with the citations appearing in the main text.

1. Reference Management Software

Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software to organize citations and bibliographic information. Recommended reference management tools include:

  • Mendeley
  • Zotero
  • EndNote
  • Other compatible reference management applications

Using reference management software can help authors maintain consistency in citation formatting and minimize errors in the reference list.

2. Citation and Reference Consistency

Authors must ensure that:

  • Every source cited in the manuscript appears in the reference list.
  • Every reference listed is cited in the manuscript.
  • Author names, publication years, article titles, journal names, volume, issue, page numbers, and other bibliographic information are accurate.
  • Citation formatting is consistent throughout the manuscript.
  • References are formatted according to the citation style required by IJMMG.

3. Quality and Relevance of References

Authors are encouraged to use relevant, credible, and up-to-date scholarly sources. References should primarily come from reputable academic journals, scholarly books, conference proceedings, official institutional publications, and other reliable academic sources.

Authors should avoid excessive use of:

  • Unverified websites.
  • Anonymous sources.
  • Non-academic blogs.
  • Wikipedia as a primary scholarly reference.
  • Outdated sources when more recent and relevant literature is available.

The use of recent peer-reviewed journal articles is particularly encouraged to strengthen the theoretical and empirical foundation of the manuscript.

4. DOI and Electronic References

Whenever available, authors should include the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) of cited scholarly publications.

DOIs should be provided in a standardized and accessible format. Authors are encouraged to verify DOI information before submitting their manuscripts.

For online sources, authors should provide sufficient bibliographic information and the appropriate URL when required by the journal's citation style.

5. Reference Recency

Authors should make appropriate use of recent literature relevant to the research topic. The proportion of recent references may vary depending on the nature of the study, discipline, and research topic.

Older publications may still be cited when they represent important foundational theories, seminal studies, historical perspectives, or established concepts.

6. Primary and Original Sources

Authors are encouraged to cite primary sources and original research whenever possible. Secondary citations should be used only when the original source cannot reasonably be accessed.

Authors should avoid relying excessively on citations from other articles when the original publication is available.

7. Citation Ethics

All ideas, concepts, findings, data, statements, or materials derived from other sources must be appropriately cited.

Authors must not:

  • Present another author's work as their own.
  • Manipulate or fabricate references.
  • Include references that were not actually consulted.
  • Cite sources solely to increase the number of references.
  • Engage in excessive or irrelevant self-citation.
  • Use citation practices that improperly influence the scholarly record.

8. Reference List

The reference list should be placed at the end of the manuscript and arranged according to the citation style specified in the IJMMG Manuscript Template.

Authors should carefully check the reference list before submission to ensure that all bibliographic information is complete and accurate.

9. Recommended Use of Reference Management Tools

For efficient manuscript preparation, authors are encouraged to:

  1. Collect and organize references using a reference management application.
  2. Import bibliographic information directly from reputable academic databases whenever possible.
  3. Verify the accuracy of imported metadata.
  4. Insert citations using the reference management software.
  5. Generate the bibliography automatically.
  6. Check all references manually before manuscript submission.

10. Final Responsibility

Although reference management software can assist in organizing citations, authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, completeness, relevance, and consistency of all references included in their manuscripts.

IJMMG encourages authors to carefully verify every citation and bibliographic entry before submission to ensure compliance with academic standards and the journal's publication requirements.
