Screening for Plagiarism
The International Journal of Multidisciplinary Magnificent Global (IJMMG) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring the originality of all manuscripts submitted for publication. To support this commitment, every submitted manuscript is subject to plagiarism and similarity screening before proceeding to the peer-review and publication process.
Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts submitted to IJMMG will be checked using an appropriate plagiarism-detection or similarity-checking software. The screening process is conducted to identify substantial similarities between the submitted manuscript and previously published works, including journal articles, books, conference proceedings, websites, theses, dissertations, and other academic sources.
Similarity Threshold
The maximum acceptable similarity index for a submitted manuscript is 20%.
- Similarity ≤ 20%: The manuscript may proceed to the next stage of the editorial process, subject to editorial assessment and peer review.
- Similarity > 20%: The manuscript may be returned to the author for revision and clarification. The editorial team may request that overlapping or inadequately cited passages be revised before the manuscript can proceed.
- A high similarity score does not automatically constitute plagiarism. The editorial team will examine the similarity report and determine whether the identified similarities are appropriately cited, commonly used terminology, references, quotations, or potentially problematic duplication.
Author Responsibility
Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and properly acknowledge the ideas, statements, data, and materials derived from other sources.
Authors must:
- Submit original work that has not been plagiarized.
- Properly cite and reference all sources used.
- Use quotation marks and appropriate citations for directly quoted material.
- Avoid inappropriate duplication or substantial reuse of previously published material.
- Revise any problematic similarities identified during the editorial screening process.
Editorial Action
If plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct are suspected, the editorial team may conduct further investigation. Depending on the seriousness of the issue, the journal may request revisions, reject the manuscript, or take other appropriate action in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policy.
The 20% similarity threshold is used as an editorial screening guideline and does not mean that manuscripts below 20% are automatically considered free from plagiarism. The editorial team will always consider the nature, context, and sources of the detected similarities.
IJMMG is committed to ensuring that all published articles meet appropriate standards of originality, academic integrity, and responsible scholarly communication.
